Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet

You will need this information when you have added a Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet, and wish to populate it for the first time, or edit it.

What is the Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet?

The Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet is for adding a section displaying specific profiles to a cover page or webpage. For example, key contacts related to the content.

Adding content in the Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet:

  1. Whilst the Team Listing tile, and Our Team portlet perform in a similar way, the route for adding content to each is different:
    1. Team Listing tile;
      1. In the 'Compose' view, you will see that your Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet is empty (unless you are coming back to edit it!). To populate the Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet, you will need to hover over the tile until you see the blue 'Edit' button in the top left, and then click on it.
    2. Our Team portlet;
      1. Click on your name in the top right of the edit bar to access the drop-down menu, ensuring that you are on the page you wish to host the Blog post portlet.

      2. Select Manage portlets from the dropdown menu.

      3. From the portlets drop down menu, click on Our team

  2. There are two headed sections in the Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet edit interface:
  3. Content
    1. 'Title' (tile)/Name (portlet)
      1. This title will be placed above the people that you populate the team tile with.
    2. 'List scale'
      1. This field allows you to define the size of the images that will show in the tile.
    3. Force use of the title specified above (portlet only)
      1. This field is now redundant, and will be removed from the system shortly.
    4. 'Number of profiles'
      1. This defines the number of profiles to be shown at in the tile. If there are more profiles, the box give the user a scrolling action. Set to 0 if you don't want any limit. The default is five.
    5. 'Show profile position field'
      1. If this box is checked, if the profile has the 'Job title' field filled in on their profile, will be displayed under their name.
    6. 'Show profile email'
      1. If this box is checked, if the profile has the 'Email address' field filled in on their profile, will be displayed under their job title.
    7. 'Show profile phone'
      1. If this box is checked, if the profile has the 'Phone number' field filled in on their profile, will be displayed under their job title.
    8. 'Filtering'
      1. The filtering option gives you the facility to turn on or off a filter that would be situated between the title and the profiles, it would display the themes on the website and any profile related to a research theme will be able to be filtered using this drop down menu.
    9. 'Elements' (tile only)
      1. This section of the edit interface will show the profiles that you have selected, so that you can reorder and remove them from the tile.
    10. Profiles (portlet only)
      1. This section of the interface allows you to choose which profiles you would like to display in the portlet.
    11. Visible count (portlet only)
      1. Here, you can define the number of visible profiles on display before there will be an option to scroll. 
  4. Style (tile)/Theming (portlet)
      1. This feature allows the user to deploy a border of their choice on either or both sides of the tile.
    1. Box type
      1. This is where you can define whether the tile has a highlighted background or stays plain.

Editing content in the Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet:

  1. When editing the Team listing tile;
    1. Go to the 'Compose' view of the Cover page, navigate to the Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet, and hover your cursor over it, the blue 'Edit' button will appear in the top left, click this and edit any of the fields you would like to.

  2. When editing the Our Team portlet;
    1. Click on your name in the top right of the edit bar to access the drop-down menu, ensuring that you are on the correct page, which hosts the portlets in question.

    2. Select ‘Manage portlets’ from the dropdown menu
    3. Click onto the portlet you wish to and edit any of the fields you would like to.

Removing the Team Listing tile

  1. If you wish to remove the Team Listing tile/Our Team portlet, navigate to the 'Layout' view of the cover page, and click 'x' in the top left of the tile. When deleting a tile, the tile you are selecting has a red border.

Removing the Our Team portlet:

  1. If you wish to remove the Our Team portlet, click on your name in the top right of the edit bar to access the drop-down menu, ensuring that you are on the correct page, which hosts the portlets in question.

  2. Select ‘Manage portlets’ from the dropdown menu

  3. Click on the X button, next to the portlet you wish to delete.
