Start up configuration for iPad, P4B and Practique Server

When first setting up Practique there are a number of settings that need to be configured by Fry. We normally agree these with the user during the Exam Fit sessions, but we can also make these changes at any point if it is better suited to the user's needs.

Practique Server

Practique timeout (Session inactivity)

Practique will not log the user out as the default setting for Practique. If the user requires a specific timeout fry can set this.

There are two settings:

  1. Session logout: after x number of minutes inactivity the user will be logged out.
  2. Warning: Normally 1 minute before the automatic logout.

The default setting in Practique does not have the timeout activated. You need to inform us if you wish this setting to be applied.

Angoff default setting

Practique has a default setting of 70 for the Angoff standard setting for all Items.

It is possible for us to set the default Angoff score to something other than 70. Please get in contact with us if you would like to change this.

Order of SBA possible responses

You can configure what order the responses show for the candidate.

The default is:

  1. Alphanumerical  (Numbered first)
  2. Case sensitivity (Ignores the upper or lower case and always shows "a" before "B")
  3. Non - Lexigraphic (ignores any symbols or formatting)

P4B (Practique for Browser)

There are two security settings for the P4B written platform.

1) The default setting (Multi Login) allows any number of logins for each Candidate ID. This is to allow for seamless moving from one device to another in the event of device failure.
2) The second setting (single Login) allows each candidate to login only once to a single device. If the candidate needs to login into another machine for any reason the invigilator (with the correct login credentials) can log the candidate in. This will be logged by the system for the audit trail.

If you have “Multi login” setting then Practique will download and present a list of all available exams from Practique. The candidate then chooses the correct exam from the list and enter their login details
If you have “Single Login” setting the candidate must login first Practique then downloads list of exams from Practique available for this particular candidate only.

iPad

Candidate information display

The iPad can show the candidate's name, ID or both to the Examiner. Depending on your policy for identifying the candidate this can be configured by us.

Display role player name on Marshal iPad

It is possible to have the role players name showing on the Marshal iPad. We can configure this for you if you wish to display this to the Marshals.

Administrator password

Administrator password is required to perform (usually dangerous) operations when using diagnostic Application information screen. These operations include Disabling the Single Application Mode, Removing non-synchronised data from the iPad and other maintenance features.

Require Single Application Mode

Settings enforces all users of the application to have Single Application Mode enabled otherwise application will refuse user attempt to log in.

Require Configuration profile

Settings ensures that the specified configuration profile is installed on the iPad otherwise refuse user's attempt to log in. This feature allows MDM managers to make sure that the restrictions enforced by the organisation policy via configuration profile are applied on the device.

Allow Examiners to amend mark sheet

Allow examiners to amend their marks after they submitted the mark sheet. By default examiners can not amend marks after they submitted the mark sheet, any amendments must be performed by the exams team staff via Practique server.

Allow Examiners to mark independently

Allows examiners to mark any candidates in their schedule independently while on-line. By default examiners wait for Marshall to advance examination rounds.

Marksheet validation

At present, in order to use the marksheet validation you need to use a standardised OSCE marksheet across all assessments. Which means that you need to have the same marksheet for all OSCE assessments.

Marksheet validation as part of OSCE stations. This allows extra checks and rules to be applied to marksheets, so that when examiners submit on the iPads, the marks can be checked and certain criteria must be completed. An example of this is that if an examiner marks a candidate as failing, they must give written feedback on that candidate's performance.

QRCode Usage

Before you can use QRCodes we need to enable the reader for your site. If not enabled the camera view does not appear for users.

Full-screen Marksheet

To allow for larger amounts of information to be shown on a single screen the app can now be set to always show the marksheet full-screen. This needs to be enabled for your site. If not enabled the current split-screen view will be used.

Rotation Independent Examiner Schedule

App can now be configured to ignore the standard Practique rotations, the examiner's candidate list will be order alphabetically and not by rounds/rooms.

The sort order is configurable, either candidate's first name, surname or ID
